Also known as jumpers, this style doesn’t feature any zips or buttons to fiddle around with. They were originally conceived in the USA, designed to reduce chafing from wool football uniforms. It is also constructed of thicker material like sweatpants to encourage warmth and sweating while working out. Like most clothes, they have evolved with time and the sweatshirt is currently no longer purely associated with working out. It has become synonymous with comfort and makes a great layering piece or loungewear for weekend series binging.
A sweatshirt makes any outfit more casual. Style it with a skirt, knee high socks and high top trainers for a girly look. Pair it with ripped jeans and lace-up boots for a more tough girl attitude. Opposites attract and in this case we’re talking about styling a cropped sweatshirt with heels - comfy on top, and glam on the bottom.
